MICHAEL LAZ. KOSMAS

OF COUNSEL

He has graduated (with distinction) the Faculty of Law of Athens University (1977).

He is a member of Athens Bar Association since 1979 and admitted to the Greek Supreme Court (Areios Pagos) and the Council of the State.

Michael has acted as legal counsel of ETEVA (National Investments and Industrial Development Bank) and, following its absorption by the National Bank of Greece (“NBG”) in 2003, as legal counsel of the latter until 2020. He has successfully handled liquidations of companies, mergers and acquisitions, bond loan agreements, restructuring and refinancing agreements, bankruptcies and related litigations.

He has acted as Head of NBG Labor Affairs Sub-division, Special Law Firms – Associated Lawyers – Domestic Subsidiaries Legal Departments’ Supervision and Co-ordination Sub-division, Recovery Division Legal Support Office, NBG Contracts – General

Legal Affairs Sub-division and Deputy Chief of Legal Services Directorate Inspection Sector.

He is the author of the chapter “Lifetime Income – article 840 Greek Civil Code” in “Interpretation of the Greek Civil Code”, Georgiadis-Stathopoulos, Sakkoulas Editions, 1982.
